Signage Department Supervisor

This is a Full-time position in Scarborough, ON posted November 5, 2020.

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Signage Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of the physical production, workflow, staffing and training of the Signage Team.

Position Responsibilities: Management of all aspects of the physical production and workflow of signs, graphics, silk screening and spray painting to include coordination of labor and materials, hands-on print production, quality control, and packaging to meet customer deadlines Works alongside Production, Project Management and Quality Teams to ensure projects are delivered on-time and on-budget Provide technical expertise to all teams on all print processes Hire, continually educate, train and review team members to develop a positive “can do” attitude Establish and maintain current ISO training matrices, documenting for all staff Ensure compliance with all environmental and legislative requirements for equipment Ensure work orders are proofed for completeness and accuracy Ensure reviews and prep of art files using RIP software Review and update work in process (WIP) and tracking programs Source and orders materials, continually researching new methods and technologies and negotiating pricing with suppliers Advise on and negotiate maintenance contracts for all equipment, maintaining accurate records including costs and budgets Ensure cycle counts are performed and reported on time as requested by Finance Work with Project Management Team to ensure adequate inventory is available for production requirements Works with Finance and HR to establish departmental budgets for equipment and staffing levels Reviews work orders costs with Project Managers to improve processes and increase accuracy and efficiency Provides labor, time and material estimates as needed Support all corporate Health and Safety initiatives and 5S Program Other duties as may be assigned and required Position Qualifications Proven leadership experience with a focus on building a positive team 5 years’ experience in large format digital print and sign manufacturing processes Expertise operating large format digital printers, routers, silk screening, and colour matching and equipment Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, PhotoShop and Illustrator Experience using RIP programs such as Onyx Knowledgeable regarding sign substrates, films and inks and application techniques Knowledge of photo silkscreen considered is essential Knowledge of wood finishing techniques i.e.

sanding, staining, and the application of various spray and wiping finishes would be considered an asset Proven multi-tasking ability and attention to detail Intermediate to advanced knowledge of all standard Microsoft applications
