Production supervisor

This is a Full-time position in Windsor, QC posted May 13, 2019.

RESPONSIBILITIES:Direct the work efforts of all hourly employees assigned to his/her area.Can recommend the hiring of staff terminating an employee after consultation with the Operations Manager and Human Resources.Responsible for the adherence to quality standards, efficiency levels, proper machine utilization, housekeeping and environmentalhealth and safety practices and supplying accurate production data reporting for employees in his/her area.Directing the efforts of the hourly classifications, the Supervisor works to achieve the objective of meeting production schedules and delivery dates as committed to our customers.Prepares the daily job assignments, scheduling work hours and creating machine schedules.

Report attendance and discipline when necessary.Ensure efficient shift start-up procedures, all employee reporting and operating methods are being performed and checklists are being utilized.Plan break/lunch schedules to maximize production output where required.Responsible for total plant personnel during off shifts, including maintenance and shipping/receiving employees.

Verify that work orders are completed, followed up and closed as required.Actively participate in production runs and prototype builds.Participates in administration of employee relations programs such as communications, job training, environmental health and safetyprograms and all those things that have to do with the ongoing development of employees (training, coaching, counseling, motivating, evaluation and job appraisal) which maintain harmonious relations between the employee and management.The Supervisor exercises appropriate discipline, awards recognition and cares for the morale of employees.Assumes responsibility for accurate diagnosis of machine and tooling problems, machine malfunctions, etc.

Conducts performance reviews in a timely manner.Ensure all TS/ISO/N5 and EKCA policies are adhered to.Participate in continuous improvement activities to improve efficiencies, reduce scrap, downtime reduction, workplace organization, improve quality.REQUIREMENTS:Grade 12 OAC or equivalent, post secondary education desirable i.e.

technicaldegree or diploma.Supervisory experience in a union environment.Working knowledge of the quality control requirements of the jobs in operations; familiarity with operating methods, inspection procedures and gage checks.Strong knowledge of robotic linesStrong leadership skills.Knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation and WHMIS.Computer knowledge and sound organizational skills.Salary: $60 $70K DOE along with benefit package Company CES is a full cycle recruitment agency with a combined staffing experience of over 30 years.
