The Role.
The Manager, People & Culture will play a vital role in managing, driving and executing on initiatives that impact employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, talent management, performance enablement, operational efficiency, and culture. This position will report to the Senior Director, People & Culture and lead a team of two direct reports. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage and implement People & Culture programs and practices that foster growth, innovation, and organizational effectiveness that align with business strategies in areas including talent management, compensation, learning and development, and performance enablement
  • Own the administration of compensation globally; and manage the research and development of competitive compensation packages aligned to our compensation philosophy
  • Manage participation in salary surveys and compensation benchmarking data extraction and exercises
  • Own and manage the day-to-day operation and administration of benefit programs working with external broker/providers in Canada and the US, to ensure programs are administered efficiently and effectively delivering a high quality employee experience through our plans
  • Act as the main point of contact for our benefit partners in Canada and the US, leading the annual renewals and open enrollment activities including employee communications
  • Drive and facilitate the Quarterly and Year-End Goals Review process 
  • Lead and own the annual compensation review process, manage calculations, perform reconciliations and formalize adjustments of merit increases across the company.
  • Ownership & responsibility for the ongoing management, administration and data integrity of all P&C technology resources, tools and programs including; Bamboo HRIS, performance enablement, employee engagement, recognition, benefits administration
  • Responsible for ensuring high quality and effective P&C administration; including the production of letters, onboarding and offboarding of employees from HR systems, managing benefits and LSA/HSA allocations, bonus calculations and ESOP rewards.
  • Execute on Total Rewards programs including; salary, RRSP/401K, stock options, health benefits, spending accounts, recognition awards
  • Responsible for supporting and informing employees about Leaves Mat Leaves & Top Up, Pat Leaves, Family/ Compassionate Care, Leave of Absences.
  • Analyze Talent Management trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs, and generate reports for analysis.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance, partnering with the legal resources as needed/required
  • Manage employer facing Immigration process and take any necessary actions including liaising with legal counsel as required.
  • Provide daily and detailed guidance to direct reports, and manage how work is to be completed
  • Coach, guide and develop team members

Desired Skills, Education & Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in an HR Generalist capacity and 2+ years of experience managing a People & Culture/HR team, programs and operations
  • Deep knowledge of People & Culture/HR standards and best practices
  • Experience working in an organization that has a remote and distributed work environment
  • Solid working experience with Canadian, US and UK employment law
  • Solid working experience and knowledge of Canadian and US Benefits
  • Advanced proficiency with HRIS, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite; highly proficient with pivot tables, vlookups, complex formulas, and managing large datasets for analytics 
  • Advanced proficiency with reporting and analytics, creating dashboards and working with data to drive employee retention and engagement required
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, critical thinking and problem solving
  • Demonstrated experience with coaching employees and management through complex and difficult issues
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively partner and collaborate with all levels of the organization and positively influence teams
