ICBC is going through a period of exciting change within insurance, defining how we will improve delivery of services to customers, develop future products and set insurance premiums to be more reflective of risk.

Crucial to achieving these improvements will be how we plan for improvement priorities, enable the delivery of new processes and solutions, support the introduction of change into insurance, and leverage emerging innovations and technologies to support our business objectives.

The Insurance Business Improvement team is hiring a Manager, Insurance Planning and Innovation to work in partnership with business leaders, IT and other key stakeholders to plan the strategic and operational opportunities, monitor execution of the plan, champion automation and innovation within insurance leveraging technology and operational excellence tools, and to help manage the introduction of change to internal staff and our broker distribution channel.

Position Highlights This strategic position will work closely with all levels of leadership to develop plans to help realize key business strategies as well as drive elements of those strategies.The Manager, Insurance Business Solutions will: Lead the discussion with insurance leaders on corporate and divisional priorities, developing and managing a roadmap of initiatives to deliver those priorities while addressing overall execution risks and dependencies Champion and support the design, development and implementation of business process automation and innovation initiatives Work with operational and front line managers to select, analyze and sustain improvement initiatives Work with a senior leadership steering group to maintain a holistic view of all divisional initiatives and other key commitments, facilitating decision making to manage overall change impact to insurance Oversee development and delivery of release notes, known issues and other documentation, and communications to all internal staff and brokers in support of scheduled insurance system releases and to address operational issues Establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders across the organization to be successful in this role Maintain employee engagement; manage workload among direct reports; provide coaching as opportunities arise.

To be successful in this position, you are persuasive, encouraging, and motivating and you have the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment, plus; Solid competency in and several years of practical experience with LEAN operational excellence methodologies and tools, agile systems delivery, project management, change management, and business and system analysis Proven track record in strategic and operational planning, and business relationship management 3+ years of management experience managing teams and a proven ability to lead and motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment The ability to elicit cooperation from various departments and senior management Exceptional service orientation and the ability to present ideas in business and user-friendly languages You easily conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities Strong written and oral communication skills.
