Our Employee Relations team is looking for a dynamic individual to lead a team of human resource professionals as the Director, Employee Relations at the Tsawwassen terminal.Your primary responsibility is to effectively manage all aspects of human resources to support the local employee base of approximately 1000.

Results-focused and proactive, you provide hands on expertise in the areas of recruitment and selection, employee and union relations, performance management, employee development and collective agreement interpretation.As an individual, you possess expertise in a fast-paced unionized environment supporting a large operation, maybe even in the transportation industry.

You are enthusiastic about collaborative union/company connections and your generalist expertise is broad; with past successes across diverse key competencies.

In this role, some of the key responsibilities include:Providing advice and guidance to your operational leaders for various HR related issues and developing strong cross-departmental relationships as the regional in-house expert; Mentor and support team members through their individual career development stages; Conduct fact finding investigations and develop performance improvement plans as needed; Develop and deliver bestpractice HR services by implementing policy and practice changesfor continuous improvement of the HR function; Foster, promote and maintain a professional, cooperative and collaborative workingrelationship with Managers, Supervisor and Union Representatives; Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to managers, such as coaching, counselling, career development, and developmental actions as required; Other duties as assigned.Education and Experience:A minimum of ten years of progressively senior HR leadership positions, preferably within an operational environment; Bachelors Degree with anemphasis on Human Resources or Business would be an asset; CPHR designation is an asset; Comprehensive knowledge of workplace investigations, recruitment, performance management and return to work policies are required.Please apply by May 15, 2022.
