He/She will join the SRE squad and are responsible for keeping all user-facing services and other production systems running smoothly.

The SRE will be accountable for the reliability, scalability and resilience of infrastructure components in terms of quality assurance and production.Production Operations 60%Handle emergency response either by being on-call or by reacting to symptoms according to monitoring and escalation when needed.Improve documentation on site reliability measures, either in application documentation, or in runbooks, explaining the issues encountered and the solutions implemented.Contribute to improving the SSENSE codebase by resolving issues.Execute the plans to work on the efficiency and capacity as defined and reduce the system resources usage to optimize cloud cost.Maintain Service Level Objectives (SLO) / Service Level Indicator (SLI) 30%Execute solutions within the infrastructure team to reach specific goals agreed within the teamIdentify Service Level Indicators (SLIs) that will align the team to meet the availability and latency objectivesParticipate in RCAs on incidents and outages aggressively looking for answers that will prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.Knowledge sharing and coaching 5%Join SSENSE University sessions to ramp up on various technologiesParticipate in the buddy program and the onboarding of new developerRecruiting 5%Participate in HR recruiting events, helping to identify and recruit top talents.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, Master’s degree, an assetMinimum 3 years of experience working as SREA minimum of 3 years experience administrating Linux based environments (Red Hat, CentOS, Debian or Ubuntu)A minimum of 3 years experience with service-oriented architectures, micro-services and Agile development life cycleA minimum of 2 years experience practicing continuous integration and continuous deliveryA minimum of 3 years experience in Infrastructure-as-codeProficiency with infrastructure automation frameworks in at least two of these technologies:Chef, Saltstack, Terraform, Puppet, Ansible or Cloud Foundation engineExpertise in infrastructure to support a microservice architectureStrong knowledge of caching technologies (Fastly, Redis, Varnish) with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement.Expertise with RDBMS (MySql, Post-gres) and NoSQL (DynamoDB, DocumentDB, Mongo DB) databases at scaleProficiency in Cloud resources (AWS) with the ability to operate them for the components owned, Certification preferred.Ability to use containers and orchestration frameworks (Kubernetes, Docker, Container registries etc.)Proficiency in GitAmazon EKS, ECS experience, an assetBilingual in French and EnglishAdditional InformationWillingness and ability to learn quicklyHigh work ethic and results orientedHigh sense of accountability and ownershipSolution-oriented mindset and can-do attitude to overcome challengesTeam player with a natural ability to build relationshipsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environment and master frequently changing Web technologies and techniques
