As an integral member of the Corporate Billing, Accounts Receivable and Registration Practice (CBARR) team, the Senior Business Analyst/Team Lead plays a key role in supporting the management of accounts receivables, maximizing cash flow and revenue, implementing process improvements and revenue-generating initiatives.

Leading a small team, the Senior Business Analyst monitors collection of non-patient accounts, provides a range of analysis, financial reports and metrics on the AR and revenues to support management decision making, and supports the Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management (HRCM) billing and receivable system (as well as future systems) to ensure system integrity.

RESPONSIBILITIES Maximizing Revenue & Cash Flow Supervise non-patient account billing and collection activities, including Foundation, Other Hospitals, Physician and other third party AR Prepare Balance Sheet and Income Statement budgets, forecasts and variance analysis, with recommendations on actions to improve revenue and cash flow Prepare and monitor AR key metrics; analyze issues and trends Identify, analyze and recommend improvements in revenue & collections strategies and processes Provide analysis, problem solving and support on operational billing and collection issues, liaising with staff, hospital departments, physicians and clients Prepare financial analysis to evaluate financial risks and contribute to assigned business cases Financial Accounting & Reporting Prepare, analyze, and review monthly financial reports, metrics, and ad hoc analytics Oversee month-end close process in HRCM, as well as necessary journal entries to meet corporate finance month-end timelines Prepare and present financial and other performance metrics to management to facilitate decision making Prepare and review analysis and reconciliations on AR balance sheet accounts ranging in complexity and maintains accounts.

Prepare Provincial Consolidation schedules relating to AR for reporting to the MOHLTC Lead the AR team in year-end audit preparation and requirements Prepare bad debt analysis and provision estimate Provide support to management in reporting requirements, as required Provide work direction and technical training and guidance to staffEnsuring integrity of HRCM System Ensure processes and internal controls are in place to maintain integrity of the billing system Oversee system maintenance, provide trouble shooting expertise Lead systems upgrades, testing and troubleshooting on HRCM, in partnership with Finance Systems department Provide guidance, support and business knowledge for other system implementations (such as: SAP, EPIC) as a subject matter expert Process Improvement & Projects Contribute to the planning, coordination, management, implementation and evaluation of process improvement initiatives and other projects that relate to CBARR Develop standard operating procedures QUALIFICATIONS Completion of a professional accounting program CPA or equivalent education and experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent Five (5) years of related experience in accounting and finance environment, preferably in hospital or health care environment Strong analytical and problem solving skills Experienced in report design, development and managing large databases Strong system experience including system implementation and system controls Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint) required, Crystal Reports preferred Experience with Infor HRCM & SAP preferred Demonstrated experience supervising and leading small teams Demonstrated commitment to client service and satisfaction If you are interested in making your contribution at UHN, please apply on-line.
