Equipment capacity analyst

Magna International

This is a Full-time position in Belleville, ON posted May 15, 2019.

*Primary responsible for monitoring and evaluating machine capacity availability for multiple manufacturing facilities globally.

*Complete project management responsibility for developing and implementation of a new capacity analysis system (database).

The system is to be capable of projecting short and long-term equipment requirements for all manufacturing facilities globally.

*Develop fully comprehensible implementation plan with team input to facilitate effective database implementation, including timing, funding, risk analysis, and required resource allocations.

*Bi-Weekly project status reports presented to executive management of key dates, deliverables, open issues, and financial status.

Must be transparent in communications, and escalate difficult problems immediately to expedite resolutions.

*Gathering of data from existing systems and compiling into a centralized system for overlay of combined capacity requirements.

*Validation of data inputs for existing equipment by hands on auditing at each site location.

Onsite evaluations to include capabilities of machine, sizing, verification of tool fit, efficiency issue escalation, etc.

*Develop systematic approach for cross-linking tools to various equipment centers for flexibility in planning and optimization of capacity.

*Key participant in business plan development related to capital investment requirements for new projects.

*Monitor remote locations and track progress through routine onsite visits and monitoring.

*Must be able to travel to all Magna Lighting locations globally and manage a flexible work schedule.

*Working with Purchasing take lead on identifying insourcing opportunities of tooling from non Magna Suppliers to keep all Magna Lighting assets fully utilized.Knowledge and EducationDiploma preferred in manufacturing or tooling engineering, with a bachelor’s degree an asset, or proven work related experienceWork Experience*A minimum of 5 years in in automotive manufacturing with strong knowledge of injection molding, coating, and light assembly processes.

*Execution experience as it relates to project tracking and implementation *Execution experience in large scale data analytics with multiple variable inputsSkills and Competencies*Microsoft software with expert skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint *Fluent in English required and Spanish, Portugese, Italian, Putonghua, or Polish is an asset *Ability to travel globally on a frequent basis *Interpersonal skills, where associations are held to the highest standards.

*Strong communication in both written and verbal manner, with the ability to interpret the audience.

*Proven ability to communicate with customers *Present to large groups of peers and executive management *Systematic approach to problem resolution and decisions are data driven *Ability to gather and analyze information *Long term planning and organization, even in times of crisis *Maintains highest level of quality in all aspects of business activities *Continuous improvement mentality with desire to drive changes into standard operating procedures *Mentorship of peers and progress tracking of skill development *Ability to maintain high level of tasks and effectively prioritize *Follow through with completion based on effective prioritization to eliminate follow up *Understand when escalation is needed in a timely fashion to ensure on time deliverablesWork EnvironmentNormal amount of sitting and standing; Ability to move around an office environment and on the production floor; Ability to work at a computer workstation; Ability to bend, twist, lift, reach.
