Business Analyst, eCommerce

You will advance The Home Depot’s distinctive brand position and improve the customer experience, within our overall omni-channel approach.

Position Purpose: The E-commerce Business Analyst is responsible for information gathering and documentation for feature development on The Home Depot Canada e-commerce website.

The individual will work closely with end users, business units, and other stakeholders to implement solutions that enhance the product browse and product information experiences and help contribute to the overall success of the e-commerce business.

In addition, the individual will look to improve business processes and support critical business strategies with strategic guidance of the E-commerce Product Management Team.

The E-commerce Business Analyst will work closely with project teams and support various stages of the development life-cycle.

Tasks assigned to this role require an in-depth and broader understanding of problem identification, analysis and resolution.

The individual must have experience working with various teams within the product development process (UX, Research, Analytics, Technology, third party vendors) to drive business objectives forward.

Position Responsibilities:
• Define and document business functions and processes related to the online and interconnected customer experience; identify opportunities for improving business processes through information systems and/or non-system changes; assist in the preparation of proposals to develop new systems and/or operational changes.

• Consult with internal and external teams to identify, define and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements, and levels of systems access.

• Act as a liaison between departmental end-users, technical analysts, information technology analysts, consultants and other third party vendors in the analysis, design, configuration, testing and maintenance of projects to ensure optimal performance.

• Analyze the feasibility of and develop requirements for new systems and enhancements to existing systems; ensure the system design fits the needs of the users; track and fully document changes for functional and business specifications; write detailed universally understood procedures for end users and for use in training.

• Collect and prepare information and reports using analytics, industry / competitive research and trends; consolidate information into cohesive and understandable correspondence or other written form for use in Product Management decision-making.

• Participate in test case definition and user acceptance testing and testing of new system functionality.

Develop training curriculum and conduct formal training sessions for end users.

Experience/Knowledge Required:
• Preferred candidate will have experience in the following: web technologies, e-commerce platforms (SAP and Hybris), user experience front-end development, agile methodologies and retail processes
• Proficient technical knowledge of e-commerce technologies and web development
• Good understanding in object-oriented methodologies, SAAS, SDLC and Agile methodologies and UML diagraming (Agile, SDLC and UML preferred)
• Strong documentation and communication skills required (e.g.

business requirements documentation; user story writing; use case development; business process diagraming; facilitating information gathering sessions)
• Adaptable, embraces change and adjusts quickly to changing work demands; prioritizes tasks to be consistent with organizational vision and department objectives
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, operate under pressure, and meet deadlines
• Detail-oriented, organized, flexible, highly-motivated team player
• The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor’s degree/diploma program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job is required
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a Business Analyst role
