POSITION OVERVIEW The Senior Advisor, Employee Communications is responsible to develop and lead the execution of communications plans for BDC’s lines of business.

They ensure the successful deployment of employee communication strategies by providing guidance and developing clear workplans with agreed upon deliverables to deliver on time.

In order to maximize impact, they work in close collaboration with internal partners to ensure alignment and optimal use of communication channels and tools.

The Senior Advisor is also a writer/editor for BDC’s internal publications (intranet, e-newsletters, executive messages, presentations, etc.) and ensure accuracy of information and that high-quality standards are always adhered to.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET Primarily, this senior advisory role is to: Develop and execute communication plans and tactics for a variety of projects and initiatives, ensuring that leaders and employees are provided with engaging, timely, clear, consistent and relevant communications Work in close collaboration with Employee Communications colleagues to ensure message alignment across all lines of business and corporate functions, and optimal use of communication channels and tools Assist in the planning, development and execution of recurring employee publications and ensure they respect BDC’s style and brand Identify internal communications issues, develop communication tactics to address these issues and provide communication advice on various initiatives Collaborate with change management and PPMO resources as required to ensure a seamless approach when assigned to projects Coach internal partners on communication cascades, helping them adapt messaging and material to the selected channel and audience Contribute to the development of the employee communications strategy Gather insights to continuously improve the employee experience Keep abreast of trends and developments in the communication field and their impact on BDC and make recommendations to enhance communications WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR At least 5-7 years of experience in communications, including supporting large cross-functional projects University degree in communications/journalism or relevant experience Excellent written and oral communication skills, in both official languages Strategic thinker able to synthesize information and present it in compelling manner Ability to handle multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities, with often short deadlines Excellent interpersonal skills Proactive, innovative and creative Team player, strong client focus with problem-solving approach Good knowledge of Microsoft Office environment, electronic tools, technology and trends related to intranets and portals Working knowledge of DreamWeaver an asset EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER At BDC, we value diversity in our workforce and encourage all qualified candidates to apply.
