Inventory control analyst

This is a Contract position in Pointe-Claire, QC posted October 19, 2021.

Our client, a well-known manufacturing company located in the West Island, wishes to join an Inventory control analyst to his team.

Reporting to the Supply Chain Director, the Inventory control analyst will be responsible for the entire inventory management process. The future candidate will work closely with Operations, Sales, Procurement and Warehouse staff to manage active, slow-moving, obsolete or excess inventory for balances and other action items.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

– In collaboration with the Directors of Supply and Inventory, identify, compile and execute the timely management of active, obsolete, surplus or discontinued inventory.

– Work closely with Sales and Customer Service on balances to ensure prompt action is taken and the application of good transactions to maintain inventory accuracy.

– Analyze and recommend inventory levels against seasonal peaks, promotional schedules and new product launches for all factories.

Identify, assess and redeploy obsolete and surplus inventory; collaborate with Sales and Operations leaders to orchestrate promotional sales of excess or slow-moving inventory.

Lead the transition from discontinued products to new replacement products.

Recommend standard policies and procedures to ensure good control of purchases and inventories.
Maintain up-to-date inventory data including the configuration of new inventory items, product names, authorized substitutes and stock levels for supply planning and inventory management.

Analyze and recommend strategies to improve fill rate performance, reduce inventory levels and increase turnover.

Identify and implement initiatives to reduce obsolete products and ideas for continuous improvement. Recommend corrective strategies and action plans to reduce obsolete inventory and increase results.

Analyze and monitor obsolete materials regularly to report to senior management (eg summaries / tables, data graphics).

Help maintain finished product inventory levels and fulfill customer orders.

Act as a substitute for plant planning and purchasing activities.

Bachelor of Business

– 2 years of experience in a similar position

Fluency in French and English

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business journals, trade journals, technical procedures or government regulations.

– Ability to write reports and write letters and procedure manuals. Ability to present information well and answer questions from groups of directors, clients and the general public.

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

– Ability to solve practical problems and deal with various concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions given in writing, orally, on diagrams or on a schedule.

Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other report writing and project planning software.

– Experience in an ERP workplace is desirable.

The end goal of this role is to proactively drive category reduction, improved customer service, and inventory accuracy.
