Product Owner


This is a Contract position in Montreal, QC posted October 17, 2021.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, results-oriented Product Owner to join our growing team.

You will be responsible for the good “health” and success of your designated feature(s), for maximizing the value of the product, resulting from the work of our development team. You are also responsible for prioritizing the backlog, executing and delivering new features. You focus on the goals, life cycle and interactions of your feature(s).

What you’ll be in charge of:

  • Master all the functionalities of the feature you are in charge of (all permissions, settings and dependencies) of your feature
  • Monitor usage trends using Looker & Amplitude
  • Master typical usage flow (how your feature is being used) or behavior per user persona
  • Measure each main functionalities’ success (adoption, retention & satisfaction) using the TARS evaluation framework
  • Measure segment’s drop off and pain points (with both customer reviews and Amplitude)
  • Determine which use cases will be impacted for each functionalities. Measure health score of the main use cases for your feature, based on their coverage with the current possibilities in Poka
  • Monitor competition and document possible gaps and opportunities
  • Analyze and be proactive on feature suggestions and any feedback related to your feature
  • Monitor how our key customers are using the functionalities in the segment and what are their main use cases
  • Lead a bi-monthly meeting with the product owner lead and VP product focused on the segment status
  • Build good relationships with our users community, engage conversation and seek validation for different stages during the development of new functionality.

Related to Feature development

  • Prioritize backlog, identify quick wins and outstanding items. Any changes have to be reflected and followed-up in the Airtable
  • Identify with the development team any technical debt in your segment that may reduce the velocity of the team, and include them in the backlog
  • Do exhaustive research alongside the designer assigned to your team (qualitative and quantitative) on problems that are related to your segment and how/what may solve them (new or improving current functionalities)
  • Write exhaustive user stories with clear acceptance criteria for each new feature. User stories must be updated as the project evolves so that they match the feature that is being delivered
  • Foresee any dependencies between the other product segments and collaborate with associate POs to ensure the success of the development
  • Collaborate and guide the scrum team during the development of a new feature
  • Collaborate with the product education & marketing teams in the training of customers and internal teams
  • Share the product vision with the scrum team, make sure they understand the problem we are trying to solve

Your experience includes:

  • 3+ years experience in a similar product role
  • Hands-on experience in software analysis, development and web technologies
  • French and English, spoken and written
  • Work experience in the manufacturing industry is an asset
  • Work experience in B2B software development is an asset.
