MD Financial Management’s Business Intelligence team is looking for a talented, curious and motivated Data Engineer.

The Business Intelligence team is responsible for supporting data analysis across the company, including building, designing, and maintaining data visualizations and high-performance analytical data sources.

The Data Engineer leads the development of complex analytical data sources for use throughout the enterprise, including building, maintaining, and optimizing data gathered from a range of sources, including the Data Warehouse (DW), CRM systems and the web.

They will actively collaborate with other analysts and subject matter experts to gather requirements, support analysis and create a variety of automated visualizations.

What you will do: Create, maintain, and optimize analytical data sources, mainly from our data warehouse Proactively search out and invent novel ways to combine, stage, and transform data to be used for analysis or visual storytelling.

Support the BI infrastructure& environment, including Tableau Server administration duties such as upgrades, permissions and diagnosis of user issues Collaborate with enterprise data scientists& analysts by providing high quality, relevant data sources and participating in reviews of advanced analyses Be a key player in organizational data quality: own/maintain data documentation, quality assurance, and sharing of best practices across the enterprise What you bring: You are inherently curious, have a passion for what you do, and actively seek out ways to improve You are quick to learn new tools, techniques, and concepts You love working with accurate, consistent and high-quality data, and contribute to improvements in our data environment You are an effective communicator: you actively listen, you are clear, and you are easily understood You make‘getting things done’ a priority.

You enjoy the collaborative process and look forward to partnering with other teams to get things done What you need: An undergraduate degree in a related field: Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, or equivalent work experience.

2+ years of with hands-on SQL experience– ideally T/SQL (SQL Server), you can write ETLs and complex data queries and are familiar with database design and implementation 2+ years of experience working with a Data Warehousing/BI environment Experience with BI and ETL/data wrangling toolsoutside of the standard Microsoft suite (Excel/Access), such as SAS, Tableau, PowerBI, Crystal Reports, Cognos BI, etc.

Experience working with complex data across a variety of data sources and types Experience developing visualizations in Tableau or similar tools It would be awesome if you also had: Hands-on experience with SQL Server Services, in particular SSIS and SSRS Experience with Tableau server Financial industry knowledge and experience Experience with open source tools like Python and R Ability to speak both English and French Understanding of agile project management methodologies
