Senior Human Resource Manager – Montreal

The HR Manager has direct responsibility of all HR related aspects to ensure an integrated, progressive, proactive and flexible, yet consistent approach.

Reporting to the VP of Human Resources and Workplace Strategy, you will collaborate on initiatives and be key in the planning, implementation and monitoring of HR policiesand practices for a rapid growth tech company, with currently over 150 employees in Canada, the United States and Australia, allowing it to further scale its operations.

Primary Responsibilities: Exercises a strategic and influential role with the management team Generalist management of all human resource programs and initiatives, including organizational design, talent acquisition, work permits and visas, development and training, employee relations, compensation and benefits, employee engagement, HRIS (BambooHR), and compliance with employment laws and regulations.

Payroll is a component of the Finance function.

Oversees and is actively involved in the recruitment and hiring of top talent at all levels Owns the full cycle recruitment process for directors and above Creating, implementing and monitoring HR policies and procedures.

Manages thorough employment records related to hiring, performance evaluation, transferring, promoting, employees’ development, raise, probation, improvement plan and terminating, critical for general and information security compliance Is an active member of the WorkJam management team.

Addresses any employment relations issues and acts as mediator in conflict resolution Implements effective training tools, conducts training sessions and maintains training logs Maintains a healthy, safe, and fun work environment to foster high retention among employees Creates strategies to attract top talent, working closely with the leadership team Develop a comprehensive search strategy to locate untapped talent pools and the most suitable candidates for each position Develop a strategic education program for experienced professionals in all areas of the office, including leadership and management training Supervision of one direct report so far, mainly involved in recruitment This is not a pure management role; managers in rapid growth tech companies are inherently involved in execution and problem solving.

Required Education and Experience: 7 years’ experience as an HR and Talent acquisition Manager Strong interpersonal skills, proven analytical ability with strong written and verbal communication skills Must have strong initiative and sense of urgency, as well as proven experience working in a fast-paced environment Proven leadership skills and ability to influence in a counseling role Ability to manage shifting priorities Fluency in both English and French (verbal and written) Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent organizational skills and ability to adapt to ever-changing priorities Experience in a rapid growth small to medium sized company, ideally in technology General expertise in Canadian, US and ideally some international HR practices and employment-related legislation CRHA designation an asset Based in Montreal Canada some North America travel is rquired
