About the role:

The Senior Analyst will primarily support the Director of Investment Analytics and Solutions Oversight. To succeed the candidate must develop, operationalize, and support a robust data analytics platform for the SLGI (Sun Life Global Investments) mutual fund shelf. This platform will be integral to ensuring both the timely delivery of data across the company and to external prospective clients. 

What will you do?

• Create and disseminate a single data package for all performance metrics and product attribution as they relate to SLGI’s mutual fund product platform.
  • Own and sign off on all performance metrics used across the organization i.e. Board reporting, POSFFS, MRFP’s, Third Party Reporting Systems (Morningstar, eVestment, Mercer, Cannex, Charles River) etc.
  • Generate analytics on the platform to be utilized by the SLGI Investment Oversight Committees.
  • Work with internal and external system providers to refine requirements for SLGI’s analytics platform.
• Draft all RFI and RFP responses for both institutional and national accounts prospects.
• Onboard and manage new / existing index subscriptions.
• Create an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to performance reporting.
• Own and sign-off on all performance metrics (for example, attribution on our products)
• Conduct ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) analysis and integrate it into SLGI reporting processes

What do you need to succeed?

• 5-7 years’ experience in mutual fund performance measurement / attribution calculations
• Demonstrable expertise with eVestment and Morningstar Direct
• Advanced MS-Excel skills
• Degree in Finance or relevant quantitative subjects
• CFA designation, or currently enrolled to become one
• Strong leadership skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to build and maintain strong, trustful relationships with all levels of the organization
• Proven time management and organization skills
• Ability to work autonomously with a bias for action and a confident demeanor
• Strong attention to detail, while maintaining a view of larger business issues
• Ability to manage multiple internal and external relationships
• Ability & drive, to pursue results and lead change
• Team player that is accountable and client focused
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills

Preferred Skills:

• Proficiency in Tableau, SQL, Seismic, and Loopio are preferred, other programming tools and languages are nice-to-have

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted.  It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.  In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.  Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
