Marketing Operations Consultant

Job Description:

This is an 8-month contract position

Working directly with the Director, Marketing Operations and Strategic Initiatives this role leads and supports multiple operational (run) and strategic (evolve) initiatives impacting the Marketing and Client Experience Team. A significant part of this role is working with various teams across SLF Canada to support the growth and adoption of our collaborative workflow management solution: Wrike.

What will you do? 

  • Product steward and consultant for Wrike: our workflow and work management software that is changing how we do work across in Marketing & the CXO 
  • Support the achievement of license utilization and adoption KPIs 
  • Performing Wrike Demos and Training 
  • Supporting Wrike users with problem solving, process mapping and designing solutions and prototypes  
  • Managing and nurturing network of Wrike Champions 
  • Build self-help resources for users / teams 
  • License & platform administration 
  • Product Steward for Wrike globally (Canada, Asia, SLC, Global Marketing; some support for US team, who have their own instance of Wrike)
  • Lead monthly workshops on Wrike Features (designed for Wrike leads, some for Regular users)
  • Create onboarding plans for new users
  • Manage vendor relationship – licensing, feature subscriptions, advocating for Sun Life’s development requests, contract renewals
  • Exploring and prioritizing platform development opportunities, eg integrations
  • Develop, review, and enforce platform best practices
  • Platform assessments as per compliance (1-3 year cycle for most assessments)
  • Help teams to build pilots and build business cases for their leadership
  • Track licensing requirements for teams and work with finance to ensure billing is accurate

  • Superior organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively 
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence peers to achieve a desired result 
  • Continuous improvement and problem solving mindset 
  • Ability to work independently with a strong achievement motivation 

What will be nice to have? 

  • 3-5 years conducting business analysis, implementing new technology or process change is preferred 
  • 2-3 years supporting change management initiatives 
  • 2-3 years managing a team’s budget  
  • University degree or post-secondary education

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted.  It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.  In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.  Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
