You will also oversee the payroll and HR administration functions to ensure effective payroll, employee data, benefit and perquisite management and compliance.Practically speaking, you will: * Develop and deliver HR business initiatives aligned with our strategic goals, and build these initiatives into an HR plan with measurable, reportable results* Develop and implement professional development, employee recognition, employee engagement, and diversity and inclusion initiatives and programs* Collaborate with managers on recruitment and hiring and onboarding processes, including creating job descriptions, job evaluations, compensation reviews, and training/coaching business leaders as required* Work with senior leadership on succession planning, promotions and structural job changes, monitor retention/turnover, and oversee the exit interview process* Create new and update existing policies and procedures aligned with best practices to reduce risk and ensure compliance, connecting with experts as needed (e.g., legal counsel)* Oversee payroll and manage HR software programs/tools, create reports, conduct analyses, and make recommendations to senior leadership* Facilitate annual performance management and objective setting processes, and train managers to implement these processes* Support managers in administering performance improvement plans, terminations, coordinating with legal counsel, etc.* Manage business relationships with legal counsel and external providers (e.g., employee benefits firm) to manage programs (e.g., benefits, perquisite, etc.) and respond to general HR inquiriesThis is a unique opportunity to exercise your creativity and build new programs, and to make adjustments to policies and procedures as needed. This role will be critical in shaping human resources, new policies, and contributing to our high-performance culture.To succeed in this role, you must have excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to build strong, trusting working relationships. We are a team of trustworthy, progressive, and principled professionals, who strive for and demand excellence, integrity, and respect from each other as well as our external stakeholders. We value collaboration and flexibility, and together have created a collegial and positive work environment.  Qualifications: * 5-10 years’ experience working as a human resources professional* Ideally 3 or more years’ experience working in a leadership/managerial role within human resources* Strong proficiency with MS Office suite (e.g.,Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.), and applicable HR software/programs* Experience with coaching, management, presenting and facilitating various presentations, training, etc.* Post-secondary degree or diploma in human resources, business, commerce, social sciences, or related field* Either CHRP or CHRL designation completed or in progress would be an asset but is not requiredHow to Apply:Our online application will give you the option to apply to this role as a complete person – not just a resume.
