Our client is a global manufacturing company and they are looking to fill a newly created role for a Health & Safety Specialist.

The role is responsible for planning, developing, implementing and directing health and safety programs and activities throughout the company.

Ensuring that health and safety policies/practices/procedures are in compliance with company requirements and applicable legal requirements.Some of the Responsibilities: Administration and management of the Health and Safety management system including internal audits, documentation and corrective actions (utilizing the 8D process).

Develop, implement and monitor risk assessments for all manufacturing activities across the facility.

Maintain records and coordinate investigation of work related accidents, injuries, illnesses and incidents.

Make recommendations to reduce or eliminate root causes.

Work with supervisors/managers to ensure that effective incident investigations are completed, reported and recorded.

Ensures that the requirements of the QMS and EHSS are met. P articipate in JHSC meetings and workplace inspections.

Qualifications: Post secondary education in Health and Safety, or equivalent experience5 years in health and safety, preferably in a manufacturing environment.Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, in order to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization Company Avery HR is a leading staffing firm providing full service customized recruitment and HR solutions.
