Reporting directly to the Director, Cybersecurity, the Cybersecurity Coordinator will contribute to the execution of the short and long-term Cybersecurity Plan at OMERS.

This includes working closely with our Cybersecurity Analysts to leverage knowledge of our security devices, system administration, security operations processes, and incident management to help support delivery and execution of OMERS Cybersecurity Plan.

As a member of this team, you will be responsible for: Compliance / Incident & Audit Reporting: Providing the support, administration and maintenance necessary to ensure effective and efficient Cybersecurity system/platform performance.

Identifying, analyzing and mitigating threats to Data & Technology systems, platforms and/or networks.

Reviewing security incident offenses and alerts, performing initial triage analysis and making determinations on follow-up or escalation of incident.

Creating final security incident reports detailing the events of security incidents.

Recommending effective process changes to enhance defense and response procedures.

Assisting with vulnerability management platform ensuring environmental scans are conducted on time and associated procedures are documented.

Participating in on-call group for technology support, specifically as it relates to approvals, security related incidents or disaster recovery procedures.

Conducting Information Technology General Controls (ITGC) assessments and validations.

Providing security recommendations/remedial actions to the client to ensure ITGC goals are met and plan of actions and any associated remediation activities are defined accordingly.

Change Management, Approvals & Administration: Policy Management: Web Content Filtering, Anti-Malware, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Next Generation Firewall & Intrusion prevention/detection (IPS), Anti-DDoS, Email Security.

Privileged ID Access approvals/changes.

Suggesting and implementing new tools and efficiency improvements for security infrastructure.

To succeed in this role, you have: College diploma, University degree or equivalent in a related field is desirable.

Information Security work experience or at least one year of transferrable work experience (e.g.

data analysis, data analytics, business intelligence, business analysis, help desk / IT Support).

Basic knowledge of Cybersecurity platforms: Web Content Filtering, Anti-Malware, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Next Generation Firewall & Intrusion prevention/detection (IPS), Anti-DDoS.

Good problem solving skills with a demonstrated understanding of Project management concepts.

Strong verbal and written communication with the ability to distill complex problems down into easy to understand, consumable pieces of information.
