Functional Chief of Staff

 

The Role:

The Functional Chief of Staff will work in close collaboration with the leader of the Software Video, Audio and Display Solutions organization and be responsible for the operational management of operational & strategic deliverables.

In addition, the Functional Chief of Staff will work in close collaboration with the Software Chief of Staff on SW-wide responsibilities.

In this position you will be working as a member of a high-performing agile team focused on delivering best in class Multimedia and Display Solutions, which will have you working with different business and SW leaders and architects. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead business and roadmap critical activities and strategic programs and initiatives on behalf of the SW functional leader
  • Engage with Internal and ecosystem partners to drive strategic initiatives and roadmap
  • Close collaboration with the SW Chief of Staff, human resources and SW/AMD Operations teams
  • Identify investment & staffing needs, develop hiring strategies and plans and closely supervise hiring and project metric attainment
  • Responsible for the creation and review of critical communications such as presentations, executive summaries / reports, announcements, town-halls and round tables / skip level meetings
  • Drive team responses to the long-range engineering budget planning process
  • Drive rewards and recognition programs within the team and raise award nomination packages to corporate as required
  • Host, chair and document functional leadership meetings such as external and internal staff meetings, workshops, planning sessions and offsite
  • Drive monthly resource allocation accuracy and completeness including assignment of all resources in alignment with hiring attainment
  • Current year budget forecasting and attainment of labour, capital, travel and material budget and rollout to the global SW budget
  • Responsible for driving action planning in response to the annual employee survey
  • Drive team compliance to corporate governance directives such as COVID-19 guidelines, work from home programs etc.
  • Drive the development, attainment and status reporting of team goals
  • Accountable for driving the creation of comprehensive overviews, information summaries, analyses on demand
  • Drive team compliance to SW PMO processes, standards and governance.
  • Assist with corporate human resources programs including team compensation, vacation consumption, day of service etc.
  • Drive organizational change and integration activities on behalf of the functional Leaders

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working in a HiTech/R&D environment especially in Audio, Video and Display area with industry connection
  • At least 10 years of Operations and/or Program/Project Management experience
  • Very effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Process and tools improvement experience

 

Academic Credentials:

  • Masters / Bachelor of Science Degree or related degree
  • PMP certification and experience working with global teams
