Fuze HR is currently recruiting a Cost Accountant for one of our clients in the nutrition industry!

Reporting to the Controller, the Cost Accountant is responsible for implementing costing systems, costing standards, and to operate daily costing activities in regards to production activities in both of our facilities.

Tasks: Establish standard costs and maintain cost accounting system Make estimates of new and proposed product costs Planning, Studying, and collecting data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory and labor Assist in build-up of machine hours rates Leads the process of the standard cost updates and manages the year end standard cost roll-up Analyze costs of raw materials and other supplies and create cost-benefit analyses for changing vendors Analyze actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs Review rates of depreciation, labor and overhead and suggest policy changes to improve numbers Compile daily, weekly and monthly plant metrics reports with analysis and investigation of unusual numbers Analyzing changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided, to determine effects on cost Classify costs accurately Recording cost information for use in controlling expenditures Assisting in Month end close of the General Ledger Explains material usage variances, PPV variances Providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services Prepares detailed account reconciliations Conduct inventory reserve analysis on a monthly & quarterly basis and generate reports for senior management (obsolete inventory) Maintain and review the general ledger and reconcile balance sheets for accounts under responsibility Participate in year-end physical inventory count and process Involvement in inter-company transaction, pricing and transfer price adjustment Assist plant managers to develop new labor and overhead rates as well as yield assumptions for budget and forecasting purposes Perform other duties as necessary Requirements: 3 years’ experience in a cost accounting role (preferably in a manufacturing company) University Degree a concentration in Accounting and Finance; CPA designation would be preferred Computer Literate and Strong system skills, proficient in Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook) and knowledge of ERP systems Understand job costing, standard costing, BOM structures, manufacturing process flows, vertical integration and supply chain Apply today !
